The meat is firm and very tasty. In addition, the fish has fewer bones than its relatives, e.g. the red sea-bream. Farmed in Greece, Turkey, Israel, Italy and Spain.

Trout is particularly mild and its fine, slightly earthy taste makes it stand out. It is very low in fat and ideal for those on a diet. Contains important omega-3 fatty acids and valuable minerals.

The meat of the rose fish is almost always processed as a fish fillet. It is considered tasty, fatty and firm. It is suitable for frying, stewing and smoking.

Fish is an important food group. It contains protein of high biological value. Lean fish provides hardly any fat whereas fatty fish may in contrast contain over 20% fat. But the fatty composition must be assessed as fatty fish is rich in long-chain, multiple unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil). Fish also provides important minerals, trace elements and vitamins that can be dissolved in water and fat.
